The mission of the Seattle Human Services Department (HSD) is to connect people with resources and solutions duringtimes of need so we can all live, learn, work, and take part in strong, healthy communities.

HSD's Aging and Disability Services division (ADS) manages the continuum of care that supports older individuals and those living with a disability, and their families. The mission of Aging and Disability Services is to develop a community that promotes quality of life, independence and choice for older people and adults with disabilities in King County. Our goal is to promote healthy aging, ensuring that our communities are great places for people to grow up and grow old.

We are seeking a new creative and collaborative team member to support our growth, team development and unit operations. This position will report to the ADS Training Manager and be a part of a team that supports staff in delivering critical services to older adults and individuals with disabilities in the Seattle and King County area.

This position will serve as lead for user training on data systems and education on policy compliance for state aging network systems, including GetCare, CARE Web, TCARE and WA Cares. In this capacity, Trainers will provide user training and technical assistance and support for both internal staff and aging network community providers; and they will collaborate with ADS planning, contracts, and data teams to develop curriculum, support users, and continuous quality improvement. As members of a six-person training team, trainers are responsible for onboarding staff across the division and serving as subject matter experts on cross-division systems and policies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to work with diverse populations with different learning styles, abilities, language preferences and
  • modes of communication.
  • Apply agency values and practices into the professional development training program.
  • Coordinate input for definition of training requirements, including establishing and maintaining effective
  • working relationships with management, colleagues and partners.
  • Facilitate trainings; responds to questions and feedback; work cooperatively with both internal and external
  • staff as well as managers to achieve organizational goals and to implement agency wide programs.
  • Develop and maintains written training curriculum to meet new and existing policy guidelines and technical
  • assistance needs for web-based tools including, but not limited to: GetCare, CARE Web and TCARE.
  • Evaluate GetCare, CARE Web, WA Cares and TCARE training programs to assure continuous improvements.
  • Coordinate training when not providing direct training by preparing presentations, arranging logistics and
  • providing technical assistance with user groups both on site and off site.
  • Troubleshoot and manage technical issues with GetCare, CARE Web, Barcode, ACES and other systems as
  • needed.
  • Work independently and with little direct oversight.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Science, Business or Public Administration, or a related field (other combinations of education, training and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability)

Experience: Requires three years professional experience in adult training/education administration, training project management, and/or educational consulting.

Certification/License: Current State of Washington drivers license or evidence of equivalent mobility.

OR: An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position duties

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to train a diverse group of people and demonstrated experience in designing and implementing adult training or education courses
  • Ability to work with individuals with varying capabilities
  • Ability to problem-solve and trouble shoot technical issues independently
  • Knowledge and experience using State programs such as MAC, TSOA, FCSP, TCARE, ACES, Barcode, CARE Web,GetCare, Provider One, WA Cares, COPES, and CFC
  • Strong understanding of race and social justice issues that lead to health inequities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to tactfully and effectively communicate with staff, community-based organizational groups, and government agencies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technology related to electronic medical records, and/or web-based data and client management systems and Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MSProject, Forms.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, collaborative, team-oriented environment with changing practices andpolicies.
  • Ability to learn new information quickly and independently.

Additional Information

The full salary range for this position is $47.39 - $55.19 an hour.
