We are seeking an appropriately skilled and experienced Program Lead Diversity and Inclusionto play a leadership role in the design, delivery and evaluation of Ambulance Victoria's (AV) diversity and inclusion program of work, with a primary focus on gender equality and LGBTQIA+ inclusion.

This is a full-time, on-going position. Part-time will be considered. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Doncaster in line with our hybrid working model.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Lead Diversity & Inclusion, responsibilities of this position include but not limited to:

  • Lead the design, development, implementation and evaluation of diversity and inclusion programs and reform initiatives, with a primary focus on gender equality and LGBTQIA+ inclusion
  • Lead evidence-based initiatives that address systemic and structural barriers, strengthen fairness and transparency, and enhance inclusion, equity, safety and belonging across the organisation
  • Maintain compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory obligations, including gender equality reporting, workforce audit activity, consultation requirements and action planning under the Gender Equality Act 2020 (Vic) and other applicable frameworks
  • Prepare high quality briefings, reports, submissions, discussion papers and recommendations for executives, committees and other key stakeholders
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with staff, volunteers, managers, executives, representative groups, unions, community organisations and external stakeholders to support reform and shared ownership of outcomes
  • Identify, assess and address risks associated with gender inequality, harmful workplace culture, sexual harassment, discrimination and inequitable systems or practices and contribute to prevention-focused approaches that strengthen workforce safety, respect, and accountability
  • Provide inclusive leadership, coaching and expert guidance to staff, leaders and project teams to build organisational capability in gender equality, LGBTQIA+ inclusion and broader diversity and inclusion practice

About you

To be considered for this position you will have a completion of a relevant postgraduate qualification (or progression toward) in diversity and inclusion, social justice, public policy, human rights, organisational change, health, or a related discipline or equivalent high-level relevant demonstrated experience supported by relevant industry certification. Other requirements include but not limited to:

  • Demonstrated experience in diversity and inclusion, equity, workforce reform, policy development, project delivery and/or organisational change within a complex environment
  • Demonstrated subject-matter expertise and leadership in gender equality and LGBTQIA+ inclusion together with demonstrated practical application of Victorian gender equality, equal opportunity and related legislative, regulatory and policy frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation and evaluation of complex projects, programs or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated conceptual, analytical a nd problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative information to identify trends, inform planning, and develop practical, evidence-informed solutions
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement, consultation and relationship-management skills, with the ability to collaborate, influence and build credibility across all organisational levels and with external partners
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, high-quality reports, briefings, discussion papers and presentations for diverse audiences
