Position Summary:

The Sr Program Manager will work directly with mid-level, senior, and executive management in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment to:

  • Create and deliver regular departmental project status reporting
  • Work with the VP of Enterprise Planning and Process to Architect a Project management Center of Excellence (COE)
  • Lead the design, development, and execution of innovative strategies and solutions that achieve corporate and project management goals and objectives.

Flexibility in schedule is crucial to meet seasonal goals and deadlines.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of multiple large teams/departments of Program/Project Managers, or the equivalent level of responsibility, that includes performing management oversight, providing guidance and mentoring, performance management, resource management, quality assurance, budgeting, and administrative tasks such has yearly goal setting and end of year Performance Reviews.
  • The Sr Program Manager leads the teams to:
  • Launch, execute, and successfully complete cross-functional projects using PMI methodologies on time, within budget, and at an expected level of quality.
  • Create and execute project plans that include standard project launch documentation including concept/vision, project charter/scope, and project schedule.
  • Identify resources needed and work with stakeholders to assign tasks and responsibilities.

  • Provide direct support to Project Management Team members, Executives, Business Owners, and Program Teams, leading project collaboration, weekly status meetings and reporting, schedule tracking, issue tracking and resolution, risk tracking and mitigation, budget development, cost tracking and reporting, deliverable tracking, and communications.
  • Lead the development and management of project workspaces on Project Server to share/communicate project documents, schedule, current task status, issues, risks, and variances.
  • Lead day-to-day project activities using Microsoft Project Server and CE’s internal ticketing system.
  • Measure work progress against project schedules, report updates and variances, and deliver measurable results.
  • Work with stakeholders and project team members to proactively identify, mitigate and/or resolve project risks/issues.
  • Partners with EPP Lead and Project Managers to Architect a Project Management COE that promotes and uses collaboration, best practices, structured approaches, and continuous improvement to drive superior project results.
  • Prepare and conduct internal training on project management tools, processes, and best practices.
  • Develop and organize briefings, presentations and white papers for senior management team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required, Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • PMI-CAPM, PMP, or PSM certifications preferred.
  • 5 – 7 years supervisory experience in a Program/Project Management environment required.
  • 14 – 18 years’ experience with the following required:
  • MS Project, SharePoint, and MS Project Server.
  • Project Scheduling, Risk and Issue Management, Vision/Charter creation, Budget/Resource management, Process Definition/Training, and Project Management Institute (PMI) processes.
  • MS Office Suite with emphasis on MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • 14 – 18 years’ experience with one or more of the following required:
  • Operational: Workflow/business process mapping (Visio preferred), process improvement efforts, metrics and KPI development; understand how technical issues impact business drivers and clearly communicate this information to all stakeholders.
  • Technology: Managing and supporting IT Projects that involve, Active Directory, data migrations, telephone and network implementations, and server/software migrations.
  • K-12 Education: Managing and supporting K-12 school launches, school operations, school-focused projects, and collaboration with product management and technology teams.
  • Ability to independently lead/manage multiple large teams/departments of Program/Project Managers that manage cross-functional programs/projects using PMI and SDLC methodologies.
  • Motivated to excel with an entrepreneurial spirit, strive for excellence and innovation, and passionate for the customer.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and consensus building skills.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
