DESCRIPTION

The Online Program Manager leads the delivery of all online academic programs, including oversight of full-time and part-time faculty. The Online Program Manager reports to the Vice President of Academic Operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide and ensure that the online classroom supports student learning outcomes and a quality learning experience.
  • Delivering student satisfaction through successful operations for online education at Charter College.
  • Oversight and accountability of gathering data from students, staff and faculty about how to improve operations to provide student with a better online learning experience and success rates.
  • Partner with all campuses to identify challenges online students face and to create action plans to pro-actively address student challenges and improve student satisfaction and graduation rates.
  • Supervise online faculty.
  • Recruits and trains new faculty members as needed, including participation in new faculty orientation.
  • Conduct ongoing performance evaluations, motivate, mentor, and coach faculty.
  • Monitors the ongoing performance of faculty.
  • Ensure faculty scheduled to teach are appropriately qualified meeting the requirements of the state licensing authority and the applicable accrediting body.
  • Plan and coordinate faculty in-services and faculty meetings.
  • Provides academic advising for students in their program, as needed.
  • Work a flexible schedule to be available in the day and evening for students, as needed.
  • Contribute to program curriculum content as needed.
  • Ensure faculty files are complete at all times and contain the documentation stipulated by the state licensing authority and the applicable accrediting body.
  • Coordinates and leads the annual advisory council meetings for each program assigned.
  • Review transfer credit requests and recommend credit approvals as appropriate.
  • Provide support and feedback to the Vice President of Academic Operations (VPAA) and the instructional design team on curriculum and program development initiatives.
  • Assist in PEP (Program Effectivness Plan) updates and collection of data.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Three (3) years teaching experience.
  • Experience in distance education.
  • Two (2) years of demonstrated success in a management position.
  • Knowledge of teaching methodology.
  • Computer skills including MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

COMPENSATION:

  • Full-Time – Salaried – Exempt position
  • Compensation dependent on experience, knowledge and education level
