Financial/Budget Analyst

Overview

GCIO is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to perform financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and monthly financial reporting for the Delivery operations of the business.

Responsibilities

The Analyst will:

  • Prepares financial forecasting and budgeting for all delivery programs
  • Tracks actual performance to budget and forecast
  • Creates, maintains and updates financial databases and spreadsheets
  • Works with the project managers to analyze and improve margins
  • Analyzes contracts’ projected staff hours, contract totals, revenues, and profit totals
  • Maintains appropriate records and documentation
  • Supports program level requirements
  • Train project managers on how to read and evaluate Project Summary Reports
  • Interface with the projects to support budgeting and training requirements
  • Ensures that programs are charging cost in accordance with FAR
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Skills Requirements:

  • Finance or a related business discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of related finance or business analysis experience in the Government contracting industry
  • Accuracy, detail oriented, organized and efficient
  • Strong communications skills; ability to work at the highest level of confidentiality with a high degree of accuracy and integrity
  • Analytical/problem solving – ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities
  • Intermediate-to-Expert level Excel Skills (vlookups, networkdays, sumif, pivot tables)
  • Ability to transform Excel spreadsheets into functional Access databases/forms
  • Ability to acquire public trust level security clearance
  • Understanding of VA/federal budgets preferred
  • Experience interacting with executive level and senior leadership positions, especially communicating complex financial analysis to executive leadership
  • Tools & Software Experience: Expert MS Excel
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor’s in Technical Discipline or substitute 8 additional years experience
