Are you a talented content and copy editor with experience working with marketing agencies and/or B2B SaaS offerings? Do you thrive on mentoring other writers to improve their writing and storytelling skills?
The newly created role of the Senior Copy & Content Editor is responsible for ensuring that all of our written and video content reflects the brand, adheres to the voice of customer, and provides top-quality information for marketing agencies in the US and around the world.
This is the perfect opportunity for a talented, highly motivated, self-disciplined content marketing expert with at least 5 years of content marketing, copywriting, and content management experience, preferably working with or for marketing agencies.
We are looking for an individual with exceptional writing and editing skills, a history of creating and delivering top-notch content, and a thorough understanding of content and copy best practices to help engage, enlighten, and convert our target audience. Working with a small team of talented writers, you will also nurture their skillset to improve the overall quality of the content we deliver.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to juggle multiple projects, from editing long-form blog posts to writing video scripts to creating powerful headlines for emails and web pages.
Reporting to the Director of Content & SEO, this position is 100% remote and only eligible for those who are authorized to work in Canada.
What You'll Do
- Work with and mentor a team of writers to ensure top-quality content is delivered on a regular basis
- Edit all written content for style, substance, and accuracy
- Interview subject matter experts and customers as needed
- Contribute high-value content to the website and blog
- Identify opportunities for shareable graphics and provide graphics briefs to the design team for infographics, charts, or other supporting visuals
- Review and edit all video scripts to create compelling marketing or informational content
- Assist with other content and copy tasks, such as emails, paid ads, etc.
Job requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of content marketing experience in a fast-paced, online SaaS company, eCommerce business, or marketing agency
- A passion for creative storytelling
- Exceptional English writing skills
- High attention to detail, fact-checking, and editing (AP Style)
- Highly motivated with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong project management skills
- A clear understanding of how to balance SEO best practices with content that speaks to our audience
- Knowledge of digital marketing and analytics best practices
Good to Have
- Marketing agency experience
- Management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English Literature/History/Journalism
- Previous working knowledge of Contentful (or other headless CMS systems)
- Graphic design and image editing
- Advanced knowledge of SEO best practices
- Adaptable, independent problem-solver, with strong critical thinking skills
