Location: MD, USA

Status: Contingent upon contract award
Salary Range: $135,000 - $150,000
Knowesis is currently seeking exceptional Consumer Reviewer Administrators (CRAs) to join our team and provide invaluable support to the Biomedical Research Application Evaluation and Support (BRAES) program. CRAs work across assigned research programs to identify needed Consumer populations, develop and maintain relationships with advocacy and support organizations, recruit and evaluate prospective Consumer Reviewers, and prepare and support Consumers throughout the peer review process under Consumer Reviewer Administrative Manager leadership.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Identify Consumer populations and representation needed to support program-specific peer review requirements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with patient advocacy and support organizations, healthcare and community organizations, military and Veteran organizations, and other relevant sources.
- Conduct outreach and recruitment and maintain a pipeline of prospective and returning Consumer Reviewers.
- Recruit, interview, screen, and evaluate prospective Consumer Reviewers in accordance with established requirements and Government guidance.
- Prepare Consumer Reviewers through orientation, training, communications, and readiness activities.
- Provide ongoing consumer-specific support before and during peer review participation.
- Track recruitment progress, identify barriers and difficult-to-source requirements, and provide status information.
- Respond to time-sensitive replacement, readiness, participation, and support needs.
- Support Consumer Reviewer debriefing, feedback collection, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain required Consumer Reviewer records and engagement information.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
- Two or more years of experience working with patients, caregivers, patient advocates, Veterans, volunteers, advocacy or support organizations, healthcare or community organizations, or comparable stakeholder populations.
- Experience in outreach, recruitment, stakeholder engagement, or relationship development.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, interviewing, training, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities concurrently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms, and web-based systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience recruiting or supporting patients, caregivers, Veterans, advocates, or other lay participants in biomedical research or scientific peer review.
- Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) or comparable Federal biomedical research experience.
- Experience with disease-specific advocacy organizations and difficult-to-source populations.
