The Opportunity: CACI is seeking TS/SCI Poly-cleared candidates who speak Persian Farsi Linguist. This is a prime contract supporting government operations in Fairfax, VA.
This is a hybrid role. You will be on site in Fairfax, VA and must be able to deploy up to 25% of the time.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately translate report/texts in electronic and hard-copy formats that not only contain facts, but also some abstract language showing an ability to capture intended implications and many nuances
- Ability to capture geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements in text
- Interpretation - able to interpret accurately. The ability of consecutive interpretation is needed, but on rare occasions simultaneous interpretation maybe required. Needs to have a good understanding of one of more regional dialects.
- Transcription - Review audio or internet materials, transcribes with high degree of accuracy and expression. Must posses excellent English-language written communication skills for preparing reports.
- Ability to identify and accurately summarize factual points as well as abstract concepts.
- Must possess computer skills: including MS Office, to be able to produce written translations and products sufficient internet skills that will allow basic research the Web.
- Excellent English language skills verbal communication skills to present briefings
Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen
- Active TS/SCI Clearance with adjudicated Polygraph
- Ability to pass an advanced English test
- Ability to score ILR Level 3 or higher on target language translation test
- Ability to deploy - active passport
- Minimum five (5) years' professional experience conducting translation, transcription, translation, and/or interpretation
- In-depth knowledge of the geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of target language geographical areas
- Master use of MS Office and internet research
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous military experience
- Has good understanding of one or more regional dialects
- Consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation abilities
This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.
