Senior Investigator Professional Standards and Conduct
Clerk Grade: 9/10
Employment Type: Ongoing, Full-time 35 hours per week and creation of a Talent Pool
Location: Haymarket, hybrid working working arrangements including office attendance

The People & Culture division at the Department of Customer Service has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Investigator to join our dynamic Professional Standards and Conduct team.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and principled Senior Investigator to lead and manage complex misconduct investigations and provide expert advice on professional standards and conduct matters. This role is pivotal in ensuring that ethical behaviour is embedded across the organisation and aligned with NSW Government values, legislation, and departmental policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end investigations into alleged misconduct involving executive and non-executive employees, ensuring procedural fairness and compliance with relevant legislation and codes of conduct.
- Provide strategic and operational advice to senior leaders on professional standards, ethical conduct, and risk mitigation.Analyse data and insights to design and deliver proactive education and training programs that support ethical leadership and HR capability.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and specialist teams to ensure timely and accurate ethical advice and contribute to policy development.
- Research and interpret legislation and policy to guide decision-making on complex matters, including criminal record assessments.
- Build strong relationships across the business to embed professional conduct practices and support organisational objectives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance compliance systems and ensure adaptability to regulatory changes.
About You
- You are a trusted advisor with a strong background in investigations, ethics, and professional standards. You bring:
- Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in investigations, case management, and applying legislation.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable advice.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion, integrity, and sound judgement.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
