Description:
100% Remote role. Our client is looking for a Senior Azure Engineer with over 7 years of experience in cloud security and architecture. This senior-level position requires a blend of leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on technical skills. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and implementing cyber-security architecture within an agile environment, ensuring alignment with security frameworks to protect cloud environments.
Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $60 - $70 / hr. w2
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Architecture Design:
- Lead the development of comprehensive cyber-security architecture strategies for Azure cloud environments.
- Ensure technology initiatives align with security frameworks and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into secure cloud solutions.
Security Implementation & Management:
- Design and implement robust security controls to protect cloud infrastructure and data.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate risks.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities and security issues.
Advisory & Leadership:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams on cloud security and risk management strategies.
- Contribute to the development of multi-year implementation programs addressing Cyber-Security, Cyber Defense, and Business needs.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and team members in best practices for cloud security.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 7 years of experience in cloud security engineering, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing security architectures for cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools and security incident response.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI).
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
- Experience working with government clients and understanding of government security requirements.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
