Job Description:
Senior AWS Cloud Engineer-application side
Location: Webster, MA - local candidates hybrid 3 days on-site and 2 days remote from start date
Candidates not local- Remote EST hours
Direct Hire Role
Summary
We are looking for an experienced cloud engineer to work with our engineering team to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based solutions. You will be responsible for deploying and debugging cloud stacks, educating teams on new cloud initiatives, and ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure. To be successful as a cloud engineer, you should be able to identify the most optimal cloud-based solutions for our clients and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices and company security policies. A top-notch cloud engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills, stay current with industry trends, and should be a team player.
Minimum Qualifications/ Experience/ Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, engineering or a similar field.
8-10 years of experience in the field of cloud computing.
Experience with CI/CD systems, Terraform, Ansible serverless and SysOps.
Experience with Python coding
Experience migrating on-prem (Java) applications to AWS Cloud (python coding)
AWS certification preferred.
Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Currently migrating on-prem applications to AWS Cloud On-prem applications are in Java and moving to AWS will require Python coding experience
Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions. Setting up, designing, developing, automating and deploying modular cloud-based systems. Ensuring efficient functioning in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security. Identifying, analyzing, and resolving application deployment issues. Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements. Interacting with staff, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on business needs.
