Job Description:
DEQ is actively looking for an experienced accountant to join our fiscal department for a part-time role. This position provides professional level analysis of financial information for the State funds. This position also routes contractual documents and processes invoices for payment. Accountants prepare financial records in accordance with GAAP, statutory or federal requirements and the State's accounting policies. Minimum requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or public or business administration with accounting or financial management emphasis.
- Three (3) years of experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets and general ledger entries that follow generally accepted accounting principles to facilitate accurate financial statement preparation and customer service in a governmental or non-profit setting.
- Experience working with databases, spreadsheets and the design and automation of accounting and reporting processes.
Additionally preferred:
- Considerable knowledge of State Government laws and the State's budgetary process.
- Experience with the Statewide Accounting, Budgeting, and Human Resources System (SABHRS) and IBARS Physical and Environmental
