Principal Legal Officer Grade VI
Location - Parramatta, Sydney
Employment type - Temporary, Full time
Salary - Level Officer VI Classification, $165,865 - $169,359 (plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)
Your role
External applications are sought for a temporary assignment opportunity in the role of Principal Legal Officer Grade VI at CSNSW Special Projects Team.
The role is based at 6 Parramatta Square, Parramatta with hybrid flexible working arrangements available.
What you'll do
As a Principal Legal Officer, you will be responsible for providing high quality legal and policy advice in relation to administrative and employment law, civil litigation and inquiries. You will be required to work autonomously, as well as supervise, lead and manage a small multidisciplinary team including legal officers and project officers. You will regularly liaise with senior executive, internal and external stakeholders, undertake research, prepare advice and briefing notes with respect to complex matters.

- Effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment;
- Have extensive knowledge and experience in the relevant area/s of law and have experience in providing high level legal advice on complex matters;
- Be confident in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships;
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Have high level computer research skills, including experience with legal research tools and the ability to access, interpret and update information from databases as required.
Essential Requirements
- Legal Qualifications and with a current unrestricted NSW practising certificate.
- Ability to undertake travel, including overnight travel, for regional court and other commitments subject to the application of any discrimination legislation (including in respect of carer's responsibilities).
- Current driver's licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role.
