This is a permanent full-time position commencing September 2026

The Infrastructure Division is responsible for the planning and provision of facilities (land, buildings and equipment) across the Department. This includes land planning, student enrolment forecasting, facilities planning, strategic asset management, capital works programs, maintenance and minor works programs, and the delivery of facilities-related services.

The Strategy and Planning Directorate leads longer-term strategic planning for land and building infrastructure. It prepares capital funding proposals, delivers statistical and demographic planning, develops asset management and sustainability strategy and policy, and manages land acquisition and the Department's land estate.

The Infrastructure Reform and Systems Branch is within the Strategy and Planning Directorate and leads cross-cutting reform and system improvement initiatives across the Department's infrastructure functions. The Branch develops and implements frameworks, governance approaches, data and reporting capabilities, and supporting systems that strengthen infrastructure planning, prioritisation, delivery and oversight.

Working with internal business areas and service partners, the Branch drives continuous improvement, supports implementation of new processes and tools, and promotes consistent standards and evidence-based decision-making across the infrastructure lifecycle to improve outcomes for public schools and the broader education system.

The Role

The successful applicant will lead and coordinate the delivery and ongoing management of infrastructure information systems, data and reporting capabilities. Working across business and technical teams, they will coordinate work across business analysts, systems specialists, developers, service providers, infrastructure staff and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical solutions. They will also oversee operational support, licensing, system improvements and vendor and contractor arrangements to ensure systems continue to meet business need.

The role will plan and implement data priorities and coordinate critical enterprise and external data sources to support infrastructure decision-making and service delivery to schools. The successful applicant will lead specialist business intelligence, analytics and reporting services and work with stakeholders to improve the quality, governance, integration and use of infrastructure data. They will also coordinate the development of smaller applications and process automation, work with providers to resolve system and delivery issues, and engage with industry experts and other jurisdictions to identify contemporary asset management, data and system solutions.

The successful applicant will assist with budget submissions and manage procurement, contracts and contractors supporting Infrastructure Reform services and projects. They will also support ministerial and parliamentary responses, contribute to Branch management, and drive continuous improvement in infrastructure information systems and services.
