Description:

As a PI Developer, you will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for creating, implementing, and supporting IT application enhancements, integrations, and new data products for the Aveva PI vendor software suite. You will work with real-time and historical data to support operations in regulated power generating facilities, transmission and distribution assets, and smart grid devices.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance. 

Rate: $75 - $85 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:

  • Aveva PI Systems experience
  • AWS and Automation experience (Python and Powershell)
  • Experience building PI related Software with Python APIs, could native to AWS
  • Provide day-to-day production support for applications, infrastructure, and end-user client tools.
  • Optimize performance and monitor system health to meet availability targets.
  • Install, configure, and monitor PI system servers, operating systems, interfaces, and client tools.
  • Create, monitor, and maintain PI system tags.
  • Ensure system security, deploy patches, and manage backups and restorations.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive techniques.
  • Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
  • Collaborate with vendors and IT entities to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Participate in project teams to deliver new functionality and support corporate initiatives.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call rotation support approximately every 8 weeks.

Experience Requirements:

  • Five or more years of experience with Aveva PI System installation, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Experience with PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI Asset Analytics, PI Event Frames, PI Vision, and PI Notifications.
  • Experience with Windows system administration and Active Directory Security.
  • Experience in Microsoft .NET application development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead complex deliverables.
  • Ability to pass NERC background checks and provide periodic 24/7 on-call support.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline; or five years of related business work experience in lieu of a degree.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
