About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Midrange .NET & Delphi Developer
This is a long-term contract role (12 months initial contract) with extension options, located in Canberra, ACT (Hybrid working arrangement).

As the selected candidate, you will:

• Develop and maintain applications using .NET (C#/VB.NET) and Delphi
• Modernise and refactor legacy Delphi systems into .NET architectures
• Build and support ASP.NET MVC and Web API solutions
• Collaborate with analysts, testers, and developers to deliver quality software
• Troubleshoot issues, optimise performance, and apply bug fixes
• Work with relational databases such as SQL Server, InterBase, and Firebird
• Ensure code quality through documentation, testing, and best practices
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to secure, scalable development
• Support integration between legacy and modern platforms

To be successful in this role you should have:

• Strong experience in .NET development (C# or VB.NET)
• Demonstrated experience working with Delphi in legacy environments
• Proven ability to modernise and integrate legacy systems
• Experience with ASP.NET MVC and Web API development
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices
• Experience aligned with SFIA Level 4 capabilities across development, configuration, and release
• Solid experience with relational databases and SQL
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments

It is desirable if you have:

• Experience in application support and maintenance environments
• Exposure to government or large enterprise systems
• Familiarity with integration and migration projects
• Experience contributing to testing automation and CI/CD practices

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain NV1 security clearance.
