About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Midrange .NET & Delphi Developer
This is a long-term contract role (12 months initial contract) with extension options, located in Canberra, ACT (Hybrid working arrangement).
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Develop and maintain applications using .NET (C#/VB.NET) and Delphi
- Modernise and refactor legacy Delphi systems into .NET architectures
- Build and support ASP.NET MVC and Web API solutions
- Collaborate with analysts, testers, and developers to deliver quality software
- Troubleshoot issues, optimise performance, and apply bug fixes
- Work with relational databases such as SQL Server, InterBase, and Firebird
- Ensure code quality through documentation, testing, and best practices
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to secure, scalable development
- Support integration between legacy and modern platforms
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Strong experience in .NET development (C# or VB.NET)
- Demonstrated experience working with Delphi in legacy environments
- Proven ability to modernise and integrate legacy systems
- Experience with ASP.NET MVC and Web API development
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices
- Experience aligned with SFIA Level 4 capabilities across development, configuration, and release
- Solid experience with relational databases and SQL
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
It is desirable if you have:
- Experience in application support and maintenance environments
- Exposure to government or large enterprise systems
- Familiarity with integration and migration projects
- Experience contributing to testing automation and CI/CD practices
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain NV1 security clearance.
