Job Title: JSE Lead API Developer

Location: Columbus United States

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled JSE Lead API Developer to join our team. This role involves developing and integrating software that connects training simulators to government simulation environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong in software development and integration, particularly in a defense or DoD environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate software that connects training simulators to government simulation environments.
  • Build, test, and troubleshoot APIs and system interfaces.
  • Validate software performance and resolve integration issues.
  • Support compliance with government simulation and interface standards.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and test reports.
  • Contribute to software development, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Support cybersecurity and system compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and government stakeholders on integration efforts.
  • Support lab testing activities and occasional travel to government test events.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 4-8 years of experience in simulation software, systems integration, or distributed systems.
  • Strong C++ and Python programming skills.
  • Experience with HLA, DIS, TENA, or similar distributed simulation technologies.
  • Familiarity with API-based architectures and tools.
  • Experience working with technical interface documents (ICDs/IDDs).
  • Knowledge of GitLab, JIRA, and CI/CD development processes.
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into software solutions.
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Familiarity with MBSE or Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Experience with virtualization and containerized environments.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with military simulation or training systems.
  • Familiarity with JSE, SCARS, GRID, or similar simulation environments.
  • Experience developing or testing APIs and software integrations.
  • Knowledge of aircraft or flight simulation models.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity, RMF, or DoD compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting system integration, verification, and validation efforts.

Work Environment

This position offers a 100% remote work environment with occasional travel to government test events. Ideal locations include Dayton, Ohio, Orlando, Virginia, with secondary locations in Dallas, Chicago, and St. Louis. You will be provided with remote access through a company laptop. Candidates must have an active secret clearance and the ability to obtain a top-secret clearance. The role provides an opportunity to work on the Department of Defense"s most advanced simulation and training programs, supporting the Joint Simulation Environment and next-generation military readiness initiatives.

This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
