Job Description:

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the management and supervision of the WDVA Infrastructure team. Infrastructure services include wired and wireless networks, network switches, servers, network storage, network management, network security, etc. Supervisory responsibilities include the efficient operation, staffing and management of this section to support the overall information technology environment and operation within the centralized BOIS.

Salary Information

The starting salary for this position is between $57.00 - $62.00 an hour ($118,560 - $128,960 annually). The IS Supervisor 2 classification is in pay schedule and range 70-02.

Salaries are dependent on candidate qualifications. Compensation for current State employees may vary and will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

This position is eligible to work up to 90% remotely. Remote work is to be performed in the State of Wisconsin. High speed internet access is a requirement of remote work. Remote work options are subject to change based on business needs.

Due to the nature of this position's duties, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check prior to appointment.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship) at the time of application. WDVA does not sponsor work or student visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.

This position may occasionally require work schedule changes to resolve problems affecting WDVA operations which includes working outside of standard business hours.

A twelve-month probationary period will be required.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will have direct experience:

  • Supervising and leading staff in a professional setting (e.g., evaluate work performance, hire, and onboard staff, provide coaching, conduct performance reviews, etc.); and
  • Leading or managing IT projects from start to finish (e.g., conduct business analysis, develop project plans, identify resources, manage stakeholder expectations, etc.); and
  • With IT infrastructure (network, server, storage, cloud, and/or IT security).

Well qualified candidates will also have direct experience:

  • With IT infrastructure across multiple locations or facilities; or
  • Developing or implementing projects related to government, public health or healthcare data or systems; or
  • Managing and communicating to staff with various levels of technical experience (e.g., junior to senior, etc.).
