The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns - both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members - with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. We look for talented and hard-working professionals who are committed to electing Democrats and winning the House majority.

Due to the cyclic nature of our organization, all positions are subject to separation at the end of the election cycle.

Position Summary:

The Hill Tracker will be responsible for filming and asking questions to Members of Congress on Capitol Hill. They will prepare detailed memos on interactions, and promptly upload audio and/or video. Hill Trackers also keep tabs on designated Members of Congress when not on the Hill, and perform other research tasks as needed. This is a full-time position.

This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Asking predetermined questions to Members of Congress and recording the interaction;
  • Managing all event details and acts as liaison to all involved parties;
  • Preparing detailed memos of footage and uploading it promptly;
  • Searching for, calendaring, and sharing details of DC-based events/tracking opportunities;
  • Managing DC-based event details, managing tracking, and researching and recommending opportunities;
  • Monitoring the activity of several Members of Congress, calendaring their events, and recording and reporting upon digital appearances;
  • Reviewing video for research products and bulleting relevant information.

Requirements

  • Initiative to work independently and follow through on all projects;
  • Excellent time management, planning, troubleshooting and communication skills;
  • Ability to perform duties under pressure and when handling confrontation;
  • Availability during evening and weekend hours;
  • Excellent writing skills and highly detail oriented;
  • Familiarity with video editing a plus;
  • Passion for campaigning and politics and a drive to help elect Democratic candidates;
