Grow your career as a Full Stack Java Developer with an innovative global bank in Irving, TX. Contract role with strong possibility of extension and/or conversion. Will require working a hybrid schedule 2-3 days onsite per week.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2-3 years of progressive experience in Full-Stack Java software development
• Backend fpcus with Spring Boot, Java 17+, API design
• Practical experience with architectural patterns for distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and enterprise-grade microservices
• Solid verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing complex technical challenges with innovative and pragmatic solutions
• Ability to work in complex team environment, contributing to a positive and high-performing engineering culture
• Extensive experience working in Agile/Scrum or other iterative development methodologies

Technical Skills:

• Core Languages: proficiency in Java
• Frameworks: Spring Framework, especially Spring Boot for microservices development. Spring, Angular and Hibernate
• Microservices Patterns: knowledge and practical experience with microservices design patterns (e.g., CQRS, Event Sourcing, Saga, Distributed Tracing, API Gateway, Service Mesh).
• Databases: Practical experience with relational databases (e.g. Oracle) and NoSQL databases
• API Development: Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs
• Messaging: experience with asynchronous messaging systems (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS) and event streaming platforms.
• Testing: experience with all levels of testing, including unit (JUnit, Mockito), integration, contract testing (e.g., Pact), and performance testing.
• Version Control: proficiency with GitHub, including advanced branching strategies, pull request workflows, and repository management.
• Knowledge of build automation tools
• Cloud Platforms: experience with at least one major cloud provider
• Containerization & Orchestration: Exposure to containerizing and orchestrating microservices deployments.
• Experience in designing and implementing robust Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and tracing tools
• Solid understanding of security best practices in backend and microservices development (e.g., OAuth2, JWT, secure coding, vulnerability scanning).

Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree
• Experience with React JS
• Experience in financial or banking sector, automated testing experience
• Experience with AI Dev tools such as Copilot

What You Will Be Doing

• Adhere to best practices in microservices architecture, including domain-driven design, event-driven architectures, API design, data consistency, and fault tolerance patterns.
• Collaborate closely with lead engineers to implement technical strategies and system roadmaps
• Proactively identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability challenges across the backend landscape.
• Assist in the implementation of advanced CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies (unit, integration, contract, performance), and deployment processes for microservices.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance development efficiency, system performance, and reliability.
• Participate in the troubleshooting and resolution of complex production incidents
• Contribute to the strategic planning and evolution of our overall backend technology stack and architecture.
