Job Description Summary:
This position will report to the Manager of Financial Operations for the Law School and be primarily responsible for departmental, student organizations, and grant spreadsheets to be updated and reconciled monthly. Position will meet with students as needed to assist with travel and expenses pertaining to student organizations, process requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices, facilitate contracts, and manage Small Purchase Charge Card (SPCC) assigned.
This position will be primarily responsible for:
• Apply accounting principles and knowledge of state and federal laws as well as local regulations and policies.
• Audit, update, and reconcile monthly budget spreadsheets.
• Meet with students to assist managing student organization’s budgets and travel needs.
• Manage and reconcile assigned SPCC.
• Manage grants and scholarships.
• Facilitate contracts between Law School and Procurement.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
-
Experience with fiscal activities such as bookkeeping or basic accounting (typically 2-5 years).

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Accounting degree or ongoing coursework in a business or related field.
-
Demonstrated experience in use of accounting programs.

Workday Experience.
Conditions of Employment:

This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
Duties:
35% - Financial Reconciliation:
-
Prepare and reconcile monthly departmental spreadsheets to Workday reports.
-
Prepare ad hoc reconciliations, accruals, and year-end journal entries.
-
Monitor budget against actual departmental spending.
25% - Student Funding:
-
Prepare and reconcile monthly student organization’s spreadsheet to Workday reports
-
Meet with students to facilitate travel, competition registrations, and advise on expenses affecting their budgets
20% - Grants and Scholarships:
-
Reconcile scholarships awarded on a per semester basis.
-
Review and correct inaccurate entries in coordination with the Law Schools Office of Admissions and Financial Aid.

Reconcile grants and meet with Senior Sponsored Program Administrator and Law School Grant Administrator as needed.
20% - Department Support:
-
Using accounting principles and university policies, audit, code, and post financial records to Workday.

Facilitate contracts between Law School and Procurement.

Manager and reconcile assigned SPCC according to state and university policies.

Process requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices in BuyWM (University procurement system).

Assist with department emails and other duties as assigned.
