Who We Are:
The Office of the Legislative Counsel is a permanent, nonpartisan legislative service agency that provides legal and publication services to members, committees and staff of the Legislative Assembly.
We are seeking two highly skilled and adaptable Executive Support Specialists to provide comprehensive administrative support to top-level agency management and staff. This pivotal role provides welcoming front office support and is the primary point of contact for the office.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you a self-starter who can adapt to changing demands with ease and can manage multiple priorities with little supervision? If so, this may be the job for you! The Office of the Legislative Counsel in Salem, Oregon, invites you to put your proven experience and skills to work as part of our administrative services team.
In this nonpartisan role, you will regularly and independently interface with high-level internal and external individuals, requiring considerable discretion and initiative. This position demands a proactive approach, exceptional organizational skills and a commitment to confidentiality and excellence.

You have the ability to balance attention to detail with awareness of the deadline-driven nature of legislative work. You appreciate careful process documentation and can find your way through complex and intricate workflow processes. You communicate effectively, enjoy collaborating with others and can work with peers who apply a broad range of skills and approaches to problem-solving.

- Experience both fast-paced, deadline-driven legislative sessions and more relaxed legislative interims
- Collaborate with creative and supportive colleagues to complete a wide array of projects

What You Will Not Do:
- Craft, shape or influence legislative policy or waver in your duty to protect the agency’s strict adherence to attorney-client privilege
This is a hybrid (remote and in-office) position located in the Capitol building in Salem, Oregon.
While working from home, personal, stable and high-speed Internet access will be required to perform the functions of this position. There will be times when employees scheduled to be working from home will be required to report to the Capitol. Every effort will be made to provide reasonable notice; however, employees may be required to report to the building under short notice. The Capitol is located at 900 Court Street NE, Salem, Oregon, 97301.
