Job Description:

In this role, you'll:
- Be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and reporting of Transport for NSW's energy procurement (primarily electricity and fuel), as well as related hedging programs, and key treasury projects. The role ensures compliance with legislative and NSW Treasury requirements, optimises debt and energy cost outcomes, and delivers against effective risk management frameworks to support Transport's financial sustainability.
- Contribute to cost efficiency and financial resilience by leading critical treasury initiatives in the delivery of essential transport infrastructure and services for the people of New South Wales.
- Lead the development, monitoring, and reporting of Transport's debt portfolio strategy including managing refinancing, new debt issuance, and debt service obligations.
- Manage Transport's energy procurement and hedging programs, ensuring compliance with policy and market standards, and providing expert advice on risk exposures and impacts (both financial and non-financial).
- Lead treasury projects and initiatives, including process improvements, system enhancements, and strategic reviews, to strengthen the efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness of treasury operations, while expanding capabilities to meet future organisational needs.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on energy, debt, and treasury project outcomes for senior executives, NSW Treasury, and governance committees.
- Monitor financial market developments, energy price and interest rate movements advising the Director and senior stakeholders on impacts to Transport's financial strategy.
- Permanent fulltime role | Home office Macquarie Park. Hybrid work arrangements in line with Transport's Workplace Presence policy.

About you
- Extensive experience in financial instruments, debt management, treasury operations, and/or energy procurement and hedging within a large corporate or public sector environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and risk management practices, particularly relating to debt and energy exposures.
- Demonstrated experience leading treasury projects, including system implementations, process improvements, or strategic reviews.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate market developments and financial data into actionable advice.
- Strong skills in analysis and reporting.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with proven ability to influence and provide strategic advice to senior executives and external partners.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capability, with experience in developing staff capability and fostering high-performance teams.
- Essential requirements - Bachelor qualification in a relevant discipline (Accounting, Business, Economics or Commerce) from an Australian university or equivalent overseas qualification, extensive and relevant professional experience, and a full member of a recognised professional body
