THE POSITION

Are you eager to begin a new chapter in your career? As an Education Administration Associate with the Department of Education, you will support programs that bring nutritious meals to communities across Pennsylvania. This position lets you use your organizational skills to help guide agencies through important state and federal requirements. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position helps guide the statewide administration of the Summer Food Service Program and the Child and Adult Care Food Program. It supports sponsors, reviews documentation, and ensures that program requirements are met. As an Education Administration Associate, you will perform the following duties:

  • Program Review: Review federal and state requirements and assess sponsor materials for program compliance
  • Data Analysis: Compile and organize program information for reporting and decision making
  • Training Support: Conduct training sessions and assist in developing updated program materials
  • Technical Assistance: Provide guidance to program participants and respond to inquiries
  • Site Monitoring: Conduct on site or desk reviews to verify corrective actions and validate compliance
  • Application Evaluation: Evaluate sponsor applications, budgets, and documentation for accuracy and completeness

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Staff is required to report to the worksite one day a week (Thursday). In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in education or educational administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
