 temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">As a Remote Director Communications, Center of Excellence, you will be responsible for executing enterprise communications through the creation of high-quality content and digital experiences. Leading a high-performing team, this role translates Charles River’s enterprise communications strategy and business priorities into clear, consistent, and effective content that drives understanding and impact.
temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">You will operate as a modern content engine - bringing enterprise messaging to life through structured, scalable storytelling and high-impact content. This role owns how content gets produced and delivered, setting standards, managing operations, and ensuring high-quality work is delivered at scale with speed and consistency.
temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Reporting to the Executive Director, Communications, this role leads the Content Strategy & Editorial Excellence and Digital Enablement & Analytics workstreams within the Communications Center of Excellence (CoE). Focused on content development and digital enablement, this role will partner closely with colleagues across Corporate Communications for distribution across channels.

  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Enterprise Storytelling & Content Leadership
    •    Translate enterprise messaging into clear, compelling content across formats
    •    Develop content in modular formats to enable reuse, adaptation, and personalization across channels
    •    Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and storytelling across all content outputs
    •    Simplify complex topics into content that is easy to understand and act upon    
     
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Team Leadership & Content Delivery
    •    Lead and develop a team of content creators and editorial specialists
    •    Oversee end-to-end development of content deliverables
    •    Set priorities and manage workload to meet business needs
    •    Maintain high standards for quality, clarity, and consistenc
     
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Content Production & Operations
    •    Ensure content is developed in formats that are optimized for digital consumption and channel use
    •    Own content production workflows, ensuring efficient intake, prioritization, and delivery
    •    Manage high-volume content development with strong attention to quality and detail
    •    Continuously improve processes to increase speed, consistency, and effectiveness
    •    Partner with Communications colleagues to ensure content is aligned and ready for delivery across channels
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Creative Quality & Brand Partnership
    •    Partner closely with the Brand team to ensure alignment in voice, tone, and visual identity
    •    Maintain strong editorial standards and storytelling quality across all content
    •    Ensure content is audience-focused, clear, and easy to engage with
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Digital & AI Enablement
    •    In collaboration with the Executive Director, Communications and Director, Global Communications, develop a roadmap for enterprise communications technology and platform improvements
    •    Implement digital and AI tools to support content development and streamline production
    •    Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and personalization
    •    Help to develop team capability in AI-assisted content creation and storytelling
    •    Integrate modern tools into everyday content workflows
    •    Ensure AI use aligns with editorial standards and maintains consistency in voice and quality 
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Performance & Continuous Improvement
    •    Track content effectiveness using metrics such as quality, engagement, and stakeholder feedback
    •    Use insights to refine storytelling approaches and improve output as part of the broader approach to analytics
    •    Drive continuous improvement in content development processes

temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:

  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Life Sciences, Marketing, or related field (advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred)
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">10+ years of experience in content, editorial, or digital communications, preferably in life sciences or other regulated industries
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Experience leading teams and managing high-volume content delivery in a complex organization
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Strong editorial and content development skills across formats
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible content
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Experience with content platforms, workflow tools, and digital channels; familiarity with AI tools preferred
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Strong organizational and operational leadership skills
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Ability to work across teams and manage competing priorities effectively
  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Proven track record of improving content operations, efficiency, and output quality

  • temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">As a remote worker, you are required to have sufficient internet and technical infrastructure and a home-based location suitable for creating a professional environment for video conference calls.

 temprop="description" lang="en-US" xml:lang="en-US">Salary: The hiring range for this position is $134K- 169K. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications and location.
