Content Manager
Mission:
The Content Manager will strengthen IDEA Public Schools’ storytelling by developing, editing, and publishing high-quality content across all communications channels, including (but not limited to) web, blog, social media, internal communications, newsletters, video scripts, and family-facing updates. This role ensures IDEA’s stories are timely, accurate, and engaging, supporting the organization’s mission to prepare students for success in college and in life. The Content Manager serves as both a writer and a content strategist, helping unify IDEA’s brand voice across platforms and audiences while driving measurable engagement outcomes.

Location:
This is a full-time (remote/on-site) position based in Texas, with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.
Travel Expectations:
Ability to travel 10% of the time to team quarterlies, regional content gathering, or during signature events such as College Signing Day.
What You’ll Do – Accountabilities
Essential Duties:
- Develop, edit, and publish compelling content that highlights IDEA’s students, staff, and impact across all digital and print channels.
- Manage the national content calendar and coordinate cross-channel campaigns to ensure consistent, on-brand storytelling.
- Lead editorial planning, enforce brand and writing standards, and support regional and campus teams through training and resources.
- Track and analyze engagement metrics to guide continuous improvement in content quality and audience reach.
- Collaborate across Communications, Creative, and Marketing to align messaging, elevate human-interest stories, and support special initiatives.

Additional Skills:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats (print, digital, social).

- Proficiency in WordPress, Wrike (or similar project management software), and content publishing tools.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field required.
- 2–4 years of professional experience in content management, communications, or marketing.
- Experience developing multi-channel content for mission-driven or educational organizations preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Content creation and management skills required.
- Reputation management experience
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- This is a sedentary position.
- The ability to support the setup of special events.
- The ability to walk/stand for long periods as needed during events.
What We Offer:
Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $68,800 and $79,900, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
