Job Description:

About the team

Studio Z is Zillow's in-house creative agency — a full-service creative, content, strategy, and production team that drives Zillow's brand forward across every channel while operating at the high-stakes intersection of brand storytelling and real-time culture. The team is small, highly skilled, and deeply collaborative — working alongside copywriters, art directors, and brand partners to make content that earns attention rather than buying it. They move at the speed of social, obsess over platform nuance, and build work that immerses the Zillow brand in culture. This is a team for people who take the internet seriously and love the craft of creating for it.

About the role

We are looking for an inventive, high-execution hybrid Creator & Strategist who lives at the intersection of culture, community, and short-form storytellers. You are equally comfortable behind the camera concepting and editing, and in front of the camera as an authentic face and voice for the Zillow brand.

In this role within StudioZ (Zillow’s in-house creative organization), you will help bring Zillow’s overarching social strategy to life across our key channels. Working in close partnership with internal Line-of-Business (LOB) leads and our external creative agency partners, you know how to navigate a collaborative, matrixed environment to deliver work that is timely, additive, and culturally resonant. You bring quick-thinking creative instincts, respect established brand guardrails, and solve complex production challenges with agility and taste.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic & Agile Content Creation: Concept, script, shoot, and edit platform-native short-form content quickly—applying proven workflows, agile production techniques, and modern creative tools to turn real-time cultural moments into compelling brand creative.
  • Brand Representation: Serve as a confident, authentic, and charismatic voice and storyteller for Zillow social and real-time trend responses.
  • Cross-Functional & Agency Collaboration: Partner seamlessly across StudioZ (internal creative agency), internal lines of business creative leads, Social, PR, and external agency partners. Respect established brand platforms and workflows while bringing fresh, expert executions that elevate the collective work.
  • Cultural Listening & Audience Acumen: Monitor digital subcultures, platform trends, and real-time conversation to identify strategic opportunities for Zillow to participate with low friction, high taste, and deep audience understanding.
  • Recurring Series Iteration: Contribute to and iterate on recurring social formats, helping translate overarching brand narratives and product truths into engaging, long-term audience moments.
  • Brand Governance & Approvals: Navigate approvals across Legal, Brand, and Production efficiently—ensuring fast-moving social work stays on-brand, compliant, and aligned with core business priorities.
  • Platform Mastery: Maintain deep fluency across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms—understanding shifting algorithms, tone, and audience behaviors in real time.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $93,900.00 - $150,100.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations. In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia the standard base pay range for this role is $89,200.00 - $142,600.00 annually. The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.

Who you are

Who You Are

  • 3–5+ years of experience creating social-first content for major brands, media platforms, or an established personal channel with a proven track record of driving meaningful engagement.
  • End-to-End Creator Craft: Mastery of short-form video production (writing, shooting, lighting, editing) paired with high taste and strong creative judgment.
  • Collaborative Partner Mindset: A low-ego, highly collaborative team player who excels in a matrixed workplace—knowing how to check ego at the door, partner across teams, and execute against shared brand goals.
  • On-Camera Comfort: Natural camera presence, charismatic storytelling ability, and the skill to communicate complex brand/product truths in a relatable, human way.
  • Business & Audience Acumen: Eagerness to deeply understand Zillow’s products, audiences, and business goals, translating complex housing topics into clear, entertaining content.
  • Speed & Agility: Strong prioritization skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity, respond to real-time opportunities, and keep projects moving without compromising quality.
  • MUST upload your portfolio to the application.
