Job Description:
Company description
At Saatchi we believe in creating ideas that can live anywhere. And we believe that when we work as a team, nothing is impossible. We strive to bring out the best in each other and in ourselves and expect applicants to understand the value of close collaboration. We also believe that creating transformational work requires initiative, an entrepreneurial spirit and a bold commitment to achieving measurable results and business success for the Clients we service.
Saatchi & Saatchi currently maintains a hybrid work policy to work in-office three days per week and remotely the other two days each week.
Overview
We are looking for an outdoor enthusiast with a backpack studio and a killer network. Someone who plans thoroughly and can execute from anywhere, in any condition, captures jaw-dropping content from the wild, and turns every trip into high-altitude, deep-woods, FOMO-inducing content for those that seek adventure everywhere.
We're looking for someone passionate about creating content and bringing ideas to life that are attuned to the pulse of the Outdoor Adventure community.
This person should be so connected to the outdoor community that they know guides by first name, can score access to places that are unheard of to most, and carry a camera like a second limb.
This person will be responsible for capturing moments from adventures that push comfort zones, make hearts race, and inspire others to get outside ASAP.
If it requires boots, grit, headlamps, or a little bit of risk as you go off the beaten path- you're already there.
This candidate will be an in-house expert on the outdoor community who will collaborate with our creatives, producers, strategists, and account leads in and outside the office. They should be willing to teach, share knowledge, and educate everyone with what's going on in the space. Even better if they have previously done this in a multi-layered agency or brand setting.
And when adventure calls…they will be right there, on the ground with the community, capturing the experience to publish.
Who You Are
- An outdoor adventure junkie - hiker, climber, angler, camper, kayaker, overlander, mountain biker (any combo welcome)
- A natural storyteller who can make blistered feet and cold mornings look romantic
- Willing to be both playful and authentic and lean into the shared experiences we've all had out there
- Someone with deep industry contacts with adventure communities and the confidence to call in big favors
- A scrappy creator and publisher who can shoot, edit, and distribute content from a tent with 10% battery
- Obsessed with adventure culture, nature, and "chasing the view" energy
- A killer planner of logistics, solving problems in the field
- Capable of moving fast - both creatively and on an actual mountain
- An adventure entrepreneur that also plays well with others to create world-class content and stories
- Loves problem-solving when things go sideways (because they will)
- Obsessed with creating content that makes people pack a bag immediately
- Your social media channels are important (who you follow and who follows you back, what's your reach, etc)
Responsibilities
- Plan & Execute: Tap into your outdoor enthusiast network to lock in locations, outfitters, gear partners, and talent willing to join the adventure
- Create & Ship From Anywhere and Everywhere: Produce high-end branded content and "things" (physical or digital) that go beyond standard UGC.
- Community Culture Tracking: Act as our "Ear-to-the-Ground," filling the gap between high-level strategy and real-time cultural moments.
- Represent the brand: You'd be comfortable (and excited) to leverage your own channels (if/as needed) and influence to pilot ideas and connect with the community.
- Translate Insights: Take the needs of our audience, creative and media teams and clients and turn them into creative executions that feel authentic, not "advertisey."
- Team Player: You'll work closely with your creative, strategy, media, and account team to share and identify insights and opportunities.
Qualifications
- Portfolio required: Show us things you've actually made (content, events, objects, or communities) and the results from your work.
- Social Savvy: Deep knowledge of Adventure Seeking influencers, upcoming events, and the "cultural zeitgeist." A deep understanding of parents/families is a plus.
- Platform Mastery: You know the latest tools on TikTok, IG, and whatever is coming next, but also understand any unique platforms that connect with the Adventure community.
- Taste: You have a strong point of view on design and storytelling.
- Energy: You enjoy and have a passion for going out, being present, and connecting with the community..
- Bonus points if you have experience in community marketing or community building initiatives in-house for an outdoor-centric brand, organization, or as part of an agency.
