About the Role

Bilingual (Spanish) Member Intake Specialist
Location: Remote — United States; contiguous United States only, excluding North Dakota, Alabama, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico
Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly

Job Description:

About Us:

The United States has the poorest maternal and birth outcomes of all developed countries with the underserved, Black, Brown, Indigenous communities disproportionately affected. Nadia Care is working to drastically change the experience of affected communities by reimagining how we deliver meaningful and compassionate care to expectant moms.

Nadia Care’s mission is to improve pregnancy, birth and the postpartum journey for women and their families by reimagining how maternity care is delivered. Our team is focused on building trust-based engagement and wrap-around support for expectant moms at home, in person and virtually to ensure they have all the social support they need for a successful and joyful pregnancy journey. We help our members with care navigation, doula support, assistance with lactation, nutrition, housing, transportation and a wide range of other needs. We leverage technology to support our virtual engagement that allows us to meet all our moms where they are.

We ensure that our members have trusted sources for support, resources, and information throughout their pregnancy, delivery and well into postpartum. Nadia Care does not replace the primary obstetrician or doctor’s relationships. Instead, we support expectant mothers with all other health-related social needs not typically available through their doctors’ offices.

Our Values:

  • Empathy is at the heart of everything we do. We must always center the experiences of the mothers and families we serve, as well as support and uplift one another.
  • Collaboration is what makes us stronger. We achieve the greatest impact when we work together, share knowledge, and elevate each other’s strengths.
  • Resilience reflects our ability to push through challenges, adapt in a fast-changing environment, and remain committed to our mission no matter the obstacles.

The Role:

We are seeking a remote Bilingual (Spanish) Member Intake Specialist to serve as the vital first point of contact for new members joining Nadia Care. As the entry point to our care team, you set the tone for a member’s entire journey. Responsibilities include welcoming families, conducting their critical first visit, educating them on our services, and completing initial intake. Once you have successfully enrolled, scheduled, and completed the first visit with the member, you will seamlessly pass them to their designated Maternity Navigator for ongoing care and support.

Work Schedule:

This role is expected to work the following schedule (paid hourly):

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:30am-5:30pm ET
  • Tuesday, Thursday: 11:00am-8:00pm ET

This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of Care Delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • First Visit & Onboarding: Serve as the first face of Nadia Care by conducting up to 7 comprehensive, virtual Welcome Visits per day. Assess members' baseline needs, educate them on our services, identify and escalate any urgent medical or social needs to the clinical team as they arise, and establish a warm, trusting relationship.
  • Care Team Warm Handoff: Coordinate directly with Maternity Navigators and clinical specialists to ensure smooth care transitions and pass critical intake notes to the core team.
  • System Documentation: Maintain rigorous data accuracy across platforms by logging interactions, scheduling visits, and tracking onboarding progress in systems like Athena

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5+ years in patient onboarding, member engagement, customer service, community health, or healthcare navigation (experience with Medicaid populations is a strong plus).
  • Bilingual Proficiency: Fully fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written) with strong conversational fluency and comfortable using non-technical terminology with members.
  • Communication Skills: High emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and the ability to build immediate rapport while guiding members through structured talk tracks.
  • Technical Savvy: Comfortable navigating CRM platforms, virtual communication tools, and scheduling software (e.g., Acuity, Spruce, EHRs, MacOS).
  • Adaptability & Drive: Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment while hitting daily outreach quality and engagement targets.
  • Education & Basics: High school diploma or GED equivalent; reliable home internet access and a quiet space for taking calls.

This is a full-time hourly position with a pay range between $19-$22/hr. Exact compensation will depend on years of direct relevant experience.
