Job Description:
Description
Under immediate supervision, assists with routine daily operations including but not limited to opening and closing of park facility, marina operations, boat rentals, cash handling, customer service, wildlife transactions, general maintenance/housekeeping, set-up/breakdown and supervision of event space, and assists with the planning and implementation of outdoor recreation and educational nature programs.
Frequent night/weekend work, Flexible schedule required.
Frequent work on or around water
Examples of Duties
- Assists with operating the marina office: greet public, collect user fees, selling bait/tackle/snacks, issuing licenses and registrations, renting boats.
- Opening and closing the park and facilities.
- Perform basic clean-up and custodial duties on grounds, facilities and equipment.
- Picks up litter, empties garbage cans, cleans public restrooms and rental equipment after use.
- Removes leaves, limbs and debris from grounds.
- Assists in providing boat rentals: cleans equipment between use, helps renters get on and off the water.
- Patrols lake and surrounding property by foot, boat, ATV and truck; enforces park and city rules.
- Assists in implementing programs and special events.
- Sets-up Marina Center for rentals, oversees and cleans facility for use.
- Does other tasks designate by supervisor.
Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school senior, outdoor recreation, some experience in work requiring public contact and customer service.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of fishing and boating practices; ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the public, ability to assist in enforcement of applicable park and city laws and regulations, ability to apply basic math principals and have a working knowledge of computers, ability to work in adverse conditions, ability to work with all types of people including children.
Supplemental Information
Valid Driver's License (Required)
CPR/First Aid (Within 6 months)
Boater Safety Certification (Within 6 months)
Ability to swim (Recommended)

Must be able to move up to 50lbs and maneuver up to one mile; must be able to jump, crawl, and climb, sometimes in unfavorable conditions.
