About the Role
Title: Applied AI Software Engineer
Location: San Francisco CA United States
Docusign is looking for a highly motivated Applied AI Software Engineer to join our "Agentic Team", as part of our product-led growth organization. As a founding member of the Agentic Team, you will collaborate closely with a team of engineers, product managers, and marketers to develop, test, and launch revenue engines using AI and automation.
You will be responsible for taking software from ideation to deployment, often venturing into uncharted territory, developing brand-new solutions and iterating based on real-world learnings. You'll thrive by thinking outside the box, talking directly to our customers, understanding the business case for your projects, and setting the pace and breadth for engineers across the company.
This position is an individual contributor role reportingt to the Senior Director of Growth.
Responsibility

Automate everything using LLMs, Python/JS scripts, APIs and virtual servers

Create secure, efficient backend services and agent pipelines in Python, Javascript or other object-oriented programming languages

Develop and maintain feedback loops for your AI Agents

Work directly with customers and internal GTM teams to understand needs and iterate quickly

Create user-focused frontend experiences using React & Typescript/Javascript

Quickly adapt to new technologies, coding languages and domains

Proactively raise issues that might impact delivery commitments

Participate in Agile environments using Scrum software development practices, automated unit testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and version control systems (Git)
Job Designation
Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience

5+ years of relevant experience

Experience building AI Agents and prompt engineering

Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., LLMs for coding assistance, code generation) to accelerate software delivery

Experience with React, Typescript/Javascript, HTML, CSS

Experience with Python, Java or other object oriented programming languages

Experience with integration of third-party APIs

Experience with public cloud (Azure or AWS)

Wage Transparency
Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:
California: $146,400.00 - $235,375.00 salary
This role is also eligible for the following:
- Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
- Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
