Job Description:
POSITION TITLE: ALUMNI RELATIONS COORDINATOR | PART-TIME
REPORTS TO: THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF FOUNDATIONS
POSITION SUMMARY: The Alumni Relations Coordinator supports the Foundation Executive Director in developing and launching Lamar Community College's first formal alumni engagement program. This position identifies and cultivates relationships with former students, maintains an organized alumni database, and implements engagement strategies that foster lifelong connections to LCC. The role is essential in strengthening student success, community involvement, and philanthropic support by promoting pride, participation, and ongoing alumni engagement.
This position requires in-person work and all applicants outside of Lamar, Colorado must be willing to relocate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Program Development & Strategy
- Establish and implement LCC's first alumni relations strategy aligned with institutional goals.
- Identify, locate, and engage alumni through outreach, digital campaigns, social media, and community partnerships.
- Develop communication channels including newsletters, email updates, social media platforms, and storytelling campaigns.
- Fundraising & Advancement Support
- Collaborate with the Foundation and college staff to identify alumni donors and prospects.
- Support annual giving campaigns and targeted fundraising initiatives.
- Promote alumni opportunities to give back through scholarships, sponsorships, volunteerism, and legacy gifts.
- Database & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain a comprehensive alumni database including contact information, interests, career pathways, and engagement history.
- Coordinate with Admissions, Records/Registrar, Advancement, and Foundation teams to integrate alumni data into existing college systems.
- Use DonorPerfect to track alumni activity, engagement, and outcomes.

Alumni speaker series and career panels

Coordinate campus visits, tours, and involvement opportunities for alumni.
- Communications & Storytelling
- Collect and highlight alumni success stories through newsletters, social media, and website features.
- Support marketing and recruitment by showcasing alumni achievements and career trajectories.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in communications, business, nonprofit management, or related field.
- At least two (2) years of experience in communications, community engagement, education, fundraising, event planning, community college missions, student populations, or similar work.
- Strong relational, interpersonal communication, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and build new programs from the ground up.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with donor management systems (DonorPerfect preferred).
- Background in higher education, nonprofit work, community engagement, or similar fields.
- Familiarity with rural community college environments.
- Familiarity with Lamar, Colorado.
HOURLY RATE: $20.67 | HOURLY; PART-TIME
