About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic professional to manage comprehensive leave of absence and accommodation programs. In this vital position, you will be at the forefront of supporting employees through significant life events and ensuring equitable access to workplace accommodations. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating intricate regulations, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and providing compassionate guidance, directly enhancing the employee experience and upholding our commitment to an inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support for leave of absence, accommodations, and disability plans and programs managed within the benefits team.
- Manage all aspects of leave of absence administration, accommodations, and disability support, including researching and resolving complex case escalations.
- Engage directly with employees, managers, and vendors to address inquiries and provide guidance.
- Assist the Benefits team with the management of disability, continuous or intermittent leave of absence, return to work, and extended medical leave programs.
- Ensure strict compliance with Local, State, and Federal laws pertaining to leave and accommodation.
- Partner effectively with third-party disability and leave of absence vendors, acting as a key liaison between vendors and employees.
- Ensure proper integration of vendor family and medical leave administration with short-term disability plans.
- Interpret internal policy and legislative developments to maintain ongoing compliance.
- Respond to and resolve escalations and questions from employees, managers, vendors, and internal and external contact centers.
- Collaborate with internal legal teams, human resources management, corporate functions, and external vendors to resolve complex and time-sensitive issues.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working on leave of absence, return to work programs, accommodations, extended medical leave programs, short-term disability, and long-term disability.
- Demonstrated experience with accommodations and relevant regulations.
- Exceptional communication skills, with proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and leadership.
- Experience working within a high-volume, fast-paced, and deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to execute high-quality work on time.
- Ability to learn new processes quickly and identify opportunities to streamline and improve existing practices.
- Ability to identify the root cause of an issue and suggest effective resolutions to management.
- Experience working with third-party disability and leave of absence administrators.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, management, or another relevant discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with human resources systems.
