Job Summary
St. Frances Cabrini Academy is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Part-Time Afternoon 7th Grade Teacher to join our Catholic school community. This position is responsible for providing high-quality instruction, fostering a supportive and faith-centered classroom environment, and promoting the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong instructional practices, effective classroom management, collaboration skills, and a commitment to Catholic education.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with school and Archdiocesan curriculum standards.
- Provide instruction for 7th grade students during afternoon classes and assigned instructional periods.
- Mentor and collaborate with a partner teacher to support student learning and classroom success.
- Create and maintain a structured, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Integrate Catholic values, teachings, and faith formation into classroom instruction and culture.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback to students and families.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of learners.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, faculty, and administration regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to support curriculum implementation and student achievement.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, parent conferences, and school events as required.
- Uphold school policies, procedures, and the mission of Catholic education.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Valid state teaching certificate preferred.
- Previous teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging learning experiences and maintain effective classroom management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and learning needs.
- Commitment to fostering a faith-filled learning environment consistent with Catholic values.
- Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools.
- Successful completion of all required background checks, Safe Environment training, and Archdiocesan requirements.
