About the Role

Title: Yocto/Linux Platform Engineer

Location: Copenhagen, Budapest or Remote in EU Time Zone

Job Description:

Mission

Airtame is the preferred platform for wireless screen sharing, digital signage and conferencing for businesses and schools. Our mission is to empower people to share, learn and connect on equal footing, no matter their device type, both locally and hybrid.

Headquartered in Copenhagen, with colleagues in the US and all over Europe, we pride ourselves on strong company culture and collaborative working spirit.

Role

As a Yocto/Linux Platform Engineer at Airtame, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the embedded Linux platform that powers our products. You’ll work at the core of our device software, assembling the system image, maintaining our Board Support Packages, and ensuring a stable, secure, and efficient platform that enables wireless screen sharing, digital signage, and conferencing at scale. Your work will span from kernel and bootloader modifications to writing userland components, making sure the platform integrates smoothly with our applications and hardware.

How we envision working together:

  • In this role you will be working from our HQ in Copenhagen. We have a dedicated test set-up in our office, allowing you to test products in connection with other peripherals.
  • We’re working hybrid with all the flexibility you need.
  • If you’re a consultant or freelancer on the search for your next mission, we’re very open to hearing from you too.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in delivering the next generation of Airtame products. You will work on bring-up of new devices, writing and maintaining Yocto recipes. This includes the Linux kernel and device drivers, userland components and various supporting applications in C, C++ and other languages.
  • Understand, support, and improve the OS that runs on current Airtame devices.
  • Provide input to internal architecture discussions and decisions. Help scope projects to ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide support, guidance and coaching to more junior members of the team by participating in onboarding, training, code reviews and walkthroughs.

To be successful in this mission, you have:

  • 3+ years experience working in embedded/BSP Linux development.
  • Experience with Yocto Project / OpenEmbedded based projects.
  • Experience with Linux kernel and userland development.
  • Skills in debugging and troubleshooting in Linux systems.
  • Solid knowledge of C or C++ programming.
  • Experience with Python programming.
  • Experience with UEFI firmware and bootloaders.
  • Good grasp of networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth stacks.
  • Experience with electronics and hardware design.

Why Airtame:

  • A healthy work-life balance.
  • Significant responsibility and ownership over projects and your field of expertise.
  • Five weeks paid vacation and 5 days of extra paid AirtameFlex days.
  • Pension and private health insurance.
  • Flexible work environment, with a hybrid mindset.
