New York, NY / Remote

Marketing and Fundraising / Full-Time / Remote

WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY

Who We Are. VOW for Girls champions the girls around the world without the rights, resources, and choices to decide their own futures. We spread awareness of child marriage and raise funds for critical local efforts across 22 countries working to eradicate the root causes of child marriage by channeling the positive power of celebrations and community. We’re changing how the world sees girls—so that every girl has the chance to change her world.

Community. Be part of an amazing team (staff and supporters!) who are passionate about our mission.

Work you’ll love. A creative and collaborative environment where we value your unique skills and insights.

Totally remote. Work from anywhere in the United States.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The VP of Marketing will serve as a key architect of VOW’s expansion into new audiences. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own the marketing ecosystem from data-driven strategy to hands-on creation and execution. You will develop, test, and validate target customers/markets for new products and build data-driven go-to-market plans to reach new audiences.

As a "team of one" supported by a small group of key vendors, you will also be responsible for executing these go-to-market plans to reach our new priority audiences: parents of girls, teens, women who care about girls rights.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership:

    • Provide strategic guidance on all marketing and communications initiatives, aligning with VOW for Girls’ mission, revenue goals, and brand identity.

    • Develop and execute a growth marketing strategy that grows revenue and brand awareness by reaching new audiences.

    • Own the marketing tech stack and use analytics to provide actionable insights that improve donor acquisition and engagement.

    • Manage the marketing budget effectively, prioritizing high-impact growth opportunities and optimizing resourcing to maximize a nonprofit budget.

  • Analytics:

    • Pull and interpret data from market research, ad platforms, social platforms, and CRM tools to identify growth opportunities, optimize campaign performance, and pivot strategy in real-time - no analyst needed.

    • Translate complex data sets into clear, actionable growth strategies for the team and board to inform long-term organizational goals.

    • Design and execute A/B tests for email subject lines, landing pages, and social ad creative to maximize ROI.

    • Partner with the Operations team to build and maintain shared dashboards and reporting infrastructure that track marketing KPIs across campaigns, channels, and audiences.

  • Customer Journey Mapping and Lead Generation:

    • Experience building segmented audience journeys that improve donor acquisition, engagement, retention, and overall lifetime value.

    • Drive VOW's lead-generation, nurture and email marketing strategy with an eye towards continuously improving CRM email segments and utilizing data sources to help inform segmentation strategy across email and other digital channels (e.g., paid, social media, etc.).

  • Content Creation and Storytelling:

    • Direct the production of compelling content across formats — copywriting, email, social copy, graphics, and short-form video — relying on a small group of key vendors. The ability to create content yourself is a plus.

    • Plan the distribution of compelling content across various channels, ensuring brand consistency and impactful messaging.

    • Work closely with the fundraising team to create compelling donor communications and collateral.

  • Brand Stewardship:

    • Maintain brand standards and guidelines to ensure consistent brand messaging across all platforms.

  • Stakeholder Communication:

    • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, communicating updates and progress on marketing and communications initiatives.

EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing and communications, with a focus on growth in nonprofit organizations, startups, social impact, or social entrepreneurship.
  • Demonstrated experience testing growth strategies with new audiences and designing experiments to drive continuous learning.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing go-to-market strategies that drive growth.
  • Experience optimizing websites and content for SEO and emerging AI-driven search experiences, including keyword strategy, content structuring, and discoverability best practices.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled marketing workflows and automation tools (e.g. Hubspot,  Lovable, Claude, Jasper, Canva, Adobe Express, Asana, ChatGPT, etc.) that improve efficiency, audience insights, and rapid, on-brand content production at scale.
  • Experience managing agency partners and budgets.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining marketing dashboards and reports - not just interpreting data handed to you, but pulling, cleaning, and structuring it.
  • Proficiency with current tech stack or similar tools, including Salesforce, MailChimp, Webflow, Zapier, Classy, Sendible, as well as Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, and reporting tools such as Looker Studio or similar.
  • Passion for VOW for Girls’ mission and commitment to gender equality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an asynchronous, remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for in-person team gatherings.

BENEFITS

VOW offers a generous benefits package, including:

  • Generous and flexible PTO in addition to 13 paid holidays, as well as personal and sick leave.
  • 100% medical, dental, and vision benefits for employees and 70% for family.
  • 401(k) match of 1% that vests immediately.
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave (available after 6 months of employment).
  • Home office setup stipend.
  • Funding for professional development opportunities.
  • The ability to work from wherever in the U.S. is best for you.
  • Regular in-person gatherings of the full VOW team.

HOW TO APPLY

Applications will be accepted through June 9, 2026. Apply below with your resume and cover letter, telling us why you’d be an exceptional candidate for this role.

You'll be asked four additional questions as part of your application. Please keep your answers at this stage brief, under 250 words for each question:

  1. VOW is looking to grow its supporter base among audiences we haven't engaged with before, parents of girls and teens. What's one growth channel or tactic you'd prioritize first to reach one of these groups? What hypothesis leads you to that channel or tactic?

  1. We are a small team, which means you'll own strategy and execution, while directing a small number of vendors. Share an example of a project where you were both the strategist and the primary executor. What did you create yourself, and what did you delegate?

  1. Tell us about a campaign or marketing strategy you led that didn't work. What did you try, why did it fail, and what would you do differently?

  1. Tell us about a marketing dashboard or report you built yourself (not one an analyst or team member built for you). What did you choose to track, what data sources did you pull from, and how did it impact a decision you made?

Please note that you must have the right to work in your location before your first day.

DON’T MEET EVERY SINGLE REQUIREMENT?

We still encourage you to apply! Studies show that women, non-binary applicants, and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification. However, at VOW for Girls, our diverse backgrounds, perspectives, identities, and talents help us thrive.

VOW is committed to racial equity and social justice and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. We actively seek applicants from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and identities to provide a wide range of perspectives, ideas, views, and insights into the strategy, policies, culture, and ambitions of VOW for Girls.

$140,000 - $160,000 a year
