What role will you play?

As our UI Principal / Lead Designer, you will define the future-state visual identity, interaction quality, and design standards across our retail, wealth, and business banking platforms. You will act as the bridge between brand strategy and product experience, you will shape how our next-generation digital banking experiences look, feel, and behave across iOS, Android, and web. As an exceptional visual craftsperson with an eye for detail, you will establish premium UI, typography, motion, and interaction patterns, translating high-fidelity concepts into scalable components, templates, and design system assets. You will work closely with our Design System Lead and engineering teams, you will ensure design excellence is consistently delivered in production, while also mentoring designers, leading UI critique forums, and elevating the overall standard of visual execution across the organisation.
What you offer

- 10+ years of professional experience specialising in UI, visual design, motion, and digital design systems.
- Expert portfolio demonstrating world-class visual craft, sophisticated typography, and meaningful motion design in complex, shipped consumer digital products.
- Fluency in agentic design workflows: Experience shifting away from manual, repetitive layout labor by leveraging advanced generative tools and AI-assisted design capabilities to accelerate interface ideation, variation, asset generation, and rapid prototyping.
- Mastery of design system architecture: Deep understanding of variables, design tokens, layout constraints, component states, and nested variants, with the ability to translate conceptual designs into clean, structured system specifications.
- Deep knowledge of platform conventions (iOS Human Interface Guidelines, Android Material Design) and responsive web frameworks.
- Strong accessibility fundamentals (WCAG contrast, focus indicators, target sizes, and accessible motion).
