Beckett Media is seeking a business-minded editor with extensive knowledge in the collectible TCG (Trading Card Game) industry. The right candidate will contribute to strategy and lead the execution of initiatives to grow digital readership and expand Beckett News, while understanding ROI and P&L management. 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the division budget and analyzing the various costs associated with print and digital media
  • Creating and sourcing unique, industry-wide content through research and a freelance network
  • Coordinate, develop, and supervise writing based on TCG new release schedules and industry events
  • Set publication standards and establish goals
  • Check content for accuracy and errors; proofread, edit, and improve stories and pieces
  • Complete writing projects and follow content requirements in terms of style and project specifications
  • Finalize posted content with affiliate referral links
  • Meet deadlines and budget requirements
  • Comply with media law and ethical guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned*

Requirements:

  • 5+ years working as an Editor
  • BS in Journalism/Writing/English or other related field, or relevant industry experience
  • Excellent writing/editing/proofreading skills (with portfolio)
  • Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks at once
  • Able to align decisions and actions to the organization’s core initiatives
  • Able to work in a creative/collaborative team environment
  • Familiarity with SEO and social media best practices
  • Proficiency with MS Office and publishing tools
  • High school diploma or equivalent*
  • Must be 18 or older*
