Technical Program Manager I

Location: Fremont, California (Remote)

COMPENSATION: $66 - $76 HOURLY

Role Overview

The main function of a Technical Program Manager is to provide successful definition, implementation, and delivery of complex programs that require cross-functional collaboration and interdependencies across a group of projects and related activities. This role involves program-level strategic planning, interaction with executive-level management, complex issue resolution, and team building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver programs within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and budget.
  • Oversee project scope definition, requirements gathering, time estimating, project schedule development, and project status reporting.
  • Manage issue and risk management, contingency planning, and communications across multiple organizational levels.
  • Manage internal and matrixed teams that serve on projects to deliver systems and systems enhancements.
  • Facilitate agile squad ceremonies such as stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives to maintain delivery cadence.
  • Track and unblock cross-squad and cross-functional dependencies in matrixed environments.
  • Manage release gate-keeping, validating quality and readiness criteria prior to production deployments.
  • Translate business priorities into engineering-ready requirements, acceptance criteria, and delivery timelines.
  • Own recurring cross-project status and risk reporting for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Coordinate delivery across AI/automation and enterprise support tooling platforms.
  • Lead program knowledge transfer and documentation to ensure delivery continuity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with project estimating, project scheduling, and customer interaction and management.
  • Proven people management and team-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to learn business processes and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.
  • Ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications and business functions.
  • Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment.
  • Experience with the software development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency with Word.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An MBA or other related advanced degree is preferred.
  • PMP or PMI certification.
