Job Description:
This position is responsible for the administration, support, and continuous improvement of the organization’s hybrid data center and cloud environments. The role serves as a technical expert, leads infrastructure projects and technology implementations, and ensures the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise platforms.
This position is hybrid (3 days per week onsite) and must be located in the Greater Cleveland region.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical ownership and advanced administration of hybrid infrastructure environments, including Active Directory, VMware, Windows Server, Linux, Microsoft Azure, Storage, Backup, and Data Center technologies.
- Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and root cause analysis.
- Act as the technical lead for infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and technology implementations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance for infrastructure technologies and operational best practices.
- Administer and support enterprise backup solutions, including Commvault, ensuring successful backup and recovery operations.
- Manage enterprise storage platforms, including Pure Storage and Dell PowerVault environments.
- Support SAN infrastructure, including Brocade Fiber Channel switching and storage connectivity.
- Oversee data center operations, including server installations, rack management, cabling standards, power distribution systems, PDUs, and transfer switches.
- Develop and maintain automation, monitoring, documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.
- Analyze infrastructure trends and capacity requirements, recommending improvements to enhance reliability, performance, and security.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support the resolution of critical incidents and service outages.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the company's strategic objectives.
- Provide mentoring, knowledge sharing, and technical coaching to infrastructure team members and junior administrators.
Requirements (Qualifications and Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 10+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments, including Server, Storage, Backup, and Cloud technologies.
- Proven experience providing technical leadership and leading infrastructure initiatives in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, and enterprise cloud platforms.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud solutions.
- Experience administering enterprise backup solutions, preferably Commvault.
- Experience managing enterprise storage platforms and SAN environments, including Pure Storage, Dell PowerVault, and Brocade technologies.
- Knowledge of data center operations, including rack infrastructure, power distribution, cabling, and hardware lifecycle management.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and other automation tools.
- Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resiliency planning.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across complex infrastructure environments.
- Ability to develop technical standards, documentation, and operational procedures.
- Highly motivated, customer-focused, and capable of working independently in a technical leadership role.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project leadership skills.
