Who We Need

We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer who thrives at the intersection of technical depth and product craft, someone who can lead architectural decisions, raise the engineering bar, and stay deeply connected to the customer experience.

 

What You'll Do

• Lead technical decisions across Rillet's product surface, driving architectural discussions and setting engineering standards for how we build user-facing features

• Shape Rillet's product engineering roadmap for years to come, identifying opportunities to accelerate development and improve the customer experience

• Partner with product managers, designers, and subject matter experts to influence product direction, advocate for technical trade-offs, and balance business needs with engineering excellence

• Translate user insights into technical requirements and champion the customer perspective in every engineering decision

• Lead by example in test-driven development and automation, building robust testing frameworks and fostering a quality-first culture

• Own the reliability and correctness of product features, contributing to monitoring, incident response, and proactive measures that keep the product stable for customers

• Mentor engineers on the team, conducting code reviews, and raising the technical bar across the organization

Who We're Looking For

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, including a proven track record shipping high-quality product features at scale

• Expertise in both object-oriented and functional programming approaches, with strong full-stack sensibilities

• Ability to find practical solutions to real user problems quickly without compromising on quality

• Thrive independently and collaboratively within a small team, with a passion for continuous learning and knowledge sharing

• Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work, demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly
