Overview
GovCIO is seeking a talented SSAS Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining SSAS solutions, including OLAP cubes and tabular models, to enhance our data analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in SQL Server, data modeling, and performance optimization. This position will be fully remote located within the United States.
Please note: The contract has been awarded; however, this position remains unfunded and is contingent upon funding release.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain SSAS cubes and tabular models to support business intelligence reporting.
- Design ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for efficient data flow.
- Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to define reporting needs.
- Ensure performance optimization of SSAS solutions, including indexing and partitioning strategies.
- Implement and maintain data security and role-based access controls within SSAS.
- Troubleshoot SSAS-related issues and provide ongoing support for BI solutions.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field.
- 12+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent professional expertise.
- Microsoft certifications in SQL Server or Azure Data Engineering.
- Experience with cloud-based analytics solutions (Azure, AWS).
- Optimizing SSAS models for efficiency and performance tuning.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
- Certifications in relevant technologies.
- Designing and managing multidimensional and tabular models.
- Writing complex queries and optimizing database performance.
- Querying OLAP cubes and tabular models.
Clearance Required
Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
