Title: Specialist, Philanthropic Relations

Job Description:
The American Academy of Dermatology is seeking a Specialist, Philanthropic Relations located in our Rosemont, IL. office responsible for working with the Philanthropic Relations and Events team to provide support of Annual Fund, Donor Acknowledgment, Engagement and Event logistics and fulfillment. Maintain accurate records in CRM as well as additional AAD Systems such as Aptify and Monday. Collaborates with other departments within the Academy such as finance, creative and marketing for reporting and event needs. In addition to prospect research and qualification, this role is responsible for donor communications and events contract tracking.

Responsibilities:

Maintain Raiser's Edge to include: pledges/payments (Annual Giving contributions and all pledged and realized Planned Gifts, Event sponsorships and donations) in accordance with established departmental procedures and IRS guidelines. Process Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and recurring gifts through CRM based upon assigned campaigns. Prepare and send acknowledgement letters in accordance with established departmental procedures and IRS regulations. Generate Queries, Exports and Reports. As needed or requested, ensure data input on philanthropic contributions is appropriately maintained in Academy and department databases.

Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improving fundraising strategy.

Assist with fulfillment of individual donor and event sponsor benefits, including but not limited to: logo recognition, engagement opportunities and pre-post event communications.

Communicate/work with Finance and Information Technology regarding the integration of CRM and Aptify. Maintain the integrity of the CRM database and ensure accurate and complete transfer of information. Administer other projects associated with CRM as necessary.

Work with marketing and communications on collateral needs for campaign and event communications. Create and update fundraising tools and websites for both peer-to-peer events and gala. Provide onsite logistical assistance.

Manage and fulfill a portfolio communications plan including individual fundraising goals and personalized strategies to effectively steward, educate, cultivate, and solicit gifts from low-to-mid level donors. Conduct face-to-face visits with donors and work closely with volunteer leadership to secure gifts.

Support to Community, Corporate & Philanthropic Relations council and committee work, as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in specialized field with minimum 2 years' fundraising or operations experience required.
- Experience with Raiser's Edge software highly preferred.
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
- Attention to Detail - Able to consistently complete work accurately and locate errors of others.
- Collaboration - Establishes and maintains effective work relationships, works cooperatively in group situations. Offers assistance and support to coworkers.
- Communication - Apply effective verbal, nonverbal, and written communication methods to achieve desired results. Understand there are various methods through which communication is achieved and the barriers to effective communication. Ability to provide effective, organized presentations to large group of members, leadership, or individuals.
- Computer - Intermediate with MS Office skills (Outlook Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Dependability - Able to follow through on assignments and instructions in a reliable, trustworthy and timely manner. Responds productively to requests for service and assistance.
- Finance and Accounting - Assist with preparing, managing, and monitoring budget and expenses.
- Service Orientation - Committed to understanding and meeting the unique needs of internal and external customers.
