Your team dynamics:

The Security Center QA Domains team is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of Genetec's flagship physical security platform. We test and validate the three pillars of Security Center: video surveillance, access control, and license plate recognition, in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

We are looking for a Software Testing Specialist to join our Video team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing security systems at scale, developing test plans, identifying and reproducing issues, and investigating anomalies across various environments and platforms. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about solving technical problems. Experience with or a strong interest in test automation is a significant asset.

Why work at Genetec?

In addition to stimulating work, you'll enjoy numerous benefits, including a free 24/7 gym, complimentary coffee and fruit, affordable on-site meals, free parking, and employee events throughout the year.

If you are ready to take the next step in your career, we would like to meet you.

Your day at a glance:

  • Validate Security Center Video Management, Genetec's flagship product, to guarantee its functionality, user-friendliness, stability, and reliability across different platforms, browsers, and devices.
  • Participate in the software delivery cycle using Agile/Kanban methodologies by collaborating with developers, designers, analysts, and product teams to improve product quality, usability, and testability.
  • Plan, design and execute manual testing activities, including functional, integration, regression, compatibility, usability and exploratory testing.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites (end-to-end, integration, user interface, and API tests) to improve test coverage and reduce manual effort.
  • Develop automation tools and frameworks for provisioning test environments, orchestration, and integration with CI/CD pipelines
  • Identify, document, analyze and track anomalies, collaborating with development teams to determine root causes and validate fixes.

What makes you an excellent candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in quality assurance (QA)
  • Good understanding of video systems, streaming, codecs such as H.264 and H.265, as well as concepts of resolution and frame rate

  • Experience working and troubleshooting in a Windows environment
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies

  • Experience in test automation and programming
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems
  • Good understanding of networking principles and IP protocols
  • Knowledge of software security and security testing practices
  • Experience working in Linux environments, including troubleshooting and basic scripting
