Initial term: 12 months (position expected to run longer)
Schedule: Monday - Thursday onsite, Friday work from home

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Join our dynamic, multidisciplinary group leading the data and analytics transformation. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scrum Master to oversee up to two teams, each consisting of 5 to 9 talented individuals.

We highly value candidates with a proven track record in building and implementing agile practices, and agile certifications are preferred. As a member of our scrum master guild, you will play a pivotal role in enabling our business partners to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.

As a Senior Scrum Master, you will embrace the challenge of tailoring various agile methodologies and frameworks to suit the unique needs of our data and analytics organization. Your strong leadership qualities will be instrumental in inspiring, influencing, and motivating teams to navigate change with positivity and resilience.

In addition to possessing a strong foundation in Agile techniques, Senior Scrum Masters must also demonstrate the following essential skills:

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Embrace experimentation, accepting feedback, and adapting to drive a culture of continuous improvement. Recognize when to deviate from traditional Agile/SAFe approaches to deliver better value based on the organization's specific business and products.
  • Effective Communication: Demonstrate clear and effective communication with the team, establishing a robust partnership with Product Owners to provide essential support for team success. Possess exceptional communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and understanding across various levels of the organization.
  • Facilitative Leadership: Demonstrate value-add principles, assist teams in eliminating waste, and encourage innovative strategies while delivering high-quality code.
  • Empowered and Assertiveness: Lead and coach teams on Agile Principles, Values, and practices, ensuring adherence to Agile/Scrum concepts and empowering teams to self-organize.

  • Conflict Resolution: Facilitate discussions, explore alternative approaches, and resolve conflicts effectively to maintain a harmonious team environment.

  • Transparency and Progress Monitoring: Demonstrate transparency by proactively communicating product development updates to the business and leadership. Maintain a clear and accurate overview of sprint progress, ensuring alignment with sprint goals and timely delivery of valuable outcomes. This fosters a culture of trust and accountability within the organization.

Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years leading and collaborating with development teams in an agile environment, demonstrating a deep understanding of agile practices and techniques.
  • Proven track record as a Scrum Master in previous roles, showcasing the ability to effectively facilitate and guide agile teams.
  • Possession of relevant certifications such as SAFe or Certified Scrum Master is highly desirable, reflecting a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Strong preference for a basic understanding of Data and Analytics or Business Intelligence operations and key deliverables.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft DevOps is preferred, showcasing the ability to leverage this toolset for efficient project management and collaboration within an agile context.
