About You:
In addition to Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, Infrastructure Management, Planning, Science or a related discipline, we are looking for:
6 to 8 years of relevant industry experience eg with an engineering consultancy, water utilities or infrastructure provider Proficient understanding of Wastewater modelling tools like MOUSE, MAPINFO. Demonstrated experience in development and management of integrated approaches to urban water services and infrastructure planning, ideally from a wastewater perspective Applied knowledge of Product and Service Strategies into Regional, System and Asset based plans Expert knowledge and experience of integrated water cycle management and water sensitive urban planning approaches Demonstrated experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling and infrastructure planning Sound analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work well in a team and develop effective working relationships Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
About the role
This role is suitable for an experienced Water and Wastewater Engineers and Planners. The position is responsible for supporting the development of optimised Integrated water product and service plans that respond to community needs and achieve Sydney Water’s objectives and priorities.
Responsibilities:
Support integrated water cycle and network planning by identifying system-wide opportunities and forecasting long-term infrastructure and resource needs. Lead the water and wastewater modelling, analysis (using MOUSE modelling platform) and optioneering responsibilities for large integrated water systems Provide advice on best-practice planning approaches, regulatory compliance, and risk evaluation to support strategic decision-making. Engage and influence stakeholders through effective communication, conflict resolution, and representation at industry forums.
