Purpose of role

The Senior Performance Marketing Analyst is a highly hands-on, performance-focused analytical role responsible for monitoring day-to-day performance across channels, identifying issues and opportunities at a granular level, and driving continuous optimisation across Search, Social, Display, and App growth.

The role exists to improve performance week by week through rapid insight generation, structured testing, and close partnership with channel owners to ensure actions are executed and measured effectively.

Overview

The role is responsible for running the cross-channel optimisation engine across Search, Social, Display, and App growth, with a primary focus on live performance monitoring and continuous optimisation.

It maintains a single backlog of optimisation actions and tests, tracking what has been identified, agreed, implemented, and the impact delivered. The role ensures the team operates in a structured, insight-led way that continuously improves performance week by week.

Working closely with channel owners, the role monitors live performance daily and weekly, conducts regular audits, and performs deep-dive analysis across campaigns, audiences, creatives, placements, and landing pages. It translates this analysis into clear, prioritised, and actionable recommendations for channel teams.

The role reports to the Senior Performance Marketing Manager.

Key responsibilities

Cross-Channel Insight & Learning

  • Diagnose differences in performance across channels and translate findings into clear, actionable optimisation opportunities
  • Convert learnings from one channel into practical improvements in others, including audiences, creative direction, targeting, and landing pages
  • Maintain a structured log of insights, actions taken, and outcomes to ensure visibility and follow-through on learnings

Testing & Experimentation

  • Identify and propose test opportunities based on performance analysis and platform audits
  • Define clear hypotheses, success metrics, and tracking requirements for all tests
  • Maintain a central test backlog including ownership, status, timelines, and outcomes
  • Support structuring, tracking, and execution of tests in partnership with channel teams and agencies
  • Track and summarise test outcomes to support wider performance learning and decision-making

Reporting & Performance Visibility

  • Produce and maintain standardised weekly performance outputs where required
  • Ensure reporting clearly explains what changed, why it changed, and what action is required
  • Provide analysis and supporting evidence for channel updates and stakeholder communication
  • Track agreed actions, implementation status, and observed impact to ensure visibility of optimisation progress

Requirements

  • Strong experience in performance marketing analysis, paid media optimisation, or digital campaign diagnostics
