Collegium Pharmaceutical is building a leading, diversified biopharmaceutical company committed to improving the lives of people living with serious medical conditions. We have a leading portfolio of responsible pain management and neuropsychiatry medications.

Hybrid – Boston, MA: Collegium will relocate its headquarters to One Lincoln in downtown Boston in Q1 2027. Until the move, this role will be based at our current headquarters in Stoughton, MA. Employees are required to work onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week, both before and after the relocation.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Paralegal provides critical support to the Legal and Compliance function, serving as a key partner in ensuring Collegium Pharmaceutical operates with integrity, complies with applicable laws and regulations, and effectively manages legal matters. This role is equally split between Legal (50%) and Compliance (50%), supporting contract management, corporate governance, litigation, healthcare compliance activities, investigations, policy administration, training, and operational processes.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, exercises sound judgment, and thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Legal (50%)

  • Support with drafting, reviewing, organizing, and managing a variety of legal documents, including:
    • Vendor and consulting agreements
    • Commercial agreements
    • Statements of Work
    • Amendments and legal correspondence
  • Maintain and administer the company's contract lifecycle management (CLM) system, including tracking approvals, renewals, and key contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate contract execution through electronic signature platforms.
  • Maintain corporate records, legal files, and document repositories.
  • Assist with corporate governance activities, including preparation of board materials, resolutions, entity records, and corporate filings.
  • Coordinate legal holds and assist with document collection for litigation, employment matters, audits, and investigations.
  • Support outside counsel by gathering information, organizing documents, and tracking legal spend.
  • Monitor litigation, subpoena, and legal matter calendars and deadlines.
  • Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law as requested.
  • Assist with intellectual property administration, including trademark and patent documentation, as applicable.

Compliance (50%)

  • Coordinate and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist with compliance monitoring activities, audits, and internal reviews.
  • Support the administration of healthcare compliance training, including tracking completion and maintaining training records.
  • Coordinate annual compliance certifications and disclosure processes.
  • Assist with investigations involving compliance concerns, hotline reports, and policy violations by gathering documentation and maintaining investigation files.
  • Support Material Review Committee (MRC) operations by maintaining documentation, tracking approvals, and organizing meeting materials.
  • Assist with monitoring compliance metrics and preparing dashboards and reports for leadership.
  • Support third-party due diligence activities, including vendor compliance documentation and risk assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program and/or law firm experience preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive paralegal experience, including experience operating at a senior or lead level with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex legal and compliance matters, exercising sound judgment on when to escalate issues.
  • Experience supporting healthcare compliance programs strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or other highly regulated industry preferred.
  • Experience with contract management systems and electronic signature platforms.
  • Strong understanding of corporate legal processes and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations, including:
    • Anti-Kickback Statute
    • False Claims Act
    • FDA promotional regulations
    • PhRMA Code
    • Sunshine/Open Payments requirements
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong documentation practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
  • Experience with CLM systems, compliance management platforms, and e-billing systems is a plus.

Pay Range

$148,000 - $180,000 USD
