The Importance of the Role

This role is the strategic owner of Sarepta’s U.S. grants, charitable donations, sponsorships, and fellowship programs, ensuring every investment advances Medical and Patient Affairs priorities while upholding the highest standards of compliance and integrity. The Senior Manager leads end to end governance—from funding strategy and committee decision making to budgeting, contracting, systems, and reporting—serving as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders and an expert voice on external funding. With a strong operational and strategic lens, the role drives clarity, rigor, and continuous improvement across complex, high impact programs that reflect Sarepta’s commitment to patients and scientific advancement.

The Opportunity to Make a Difference

  • Own day‑to‑day management and execution of U.S. grants, charitable donations, sponsorships, and fellowship programs.

  • Partner with Medical Affairs and Patient Affairs leadership to operationalize the annual funding strategy, including intake planning, funding prioritization, and budget alignment.

  • Oversee the end‑to‑end lifecycle of external funding requests, including intake, review coordination, documentation, approvals, contracting, payments, and reconciliation.

  • Maintain accountability for adherence to established policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • Serve as lead coordinator for grants and sponsorships review committees, including agenda development, materials preparation, meeting facilitation, and documentation of outcomes.

  • Manage follow‑ups and internal review actions to ensure timely decisions and closure of requests.

  • Act as primary liaison between internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, compliance partners, and external vendors related to approved funding activities.

  • Manage program budgets, forecasting, tracking, and variance analysis for grants, sponsorships, and fellowships.

  • Oversee contracts, purchase requisitions, invoicing, payment processing, attendance tracking, and post‑event reconciliation.

  • Maintain accurate program records, trackers, and reporting to support audits, reconciliation, and leadership visibility.

  • Own and administer the grants and sponsorships submission portal and supporting tools, including issue resolution, enhancements, testing, and user training.

  • Develop and deliver regular reporting and summaries to senior leadership on request volumes, funding decisions, trends, and timelines.

  • Identify operational inefficiencies, risks, and bottlenecks; implement process improvements and standardized workflows to enhance scalability and consistency.

  • Develop and maintain internal guidance materials, FAQs, program documentation, and reference tools related to funding processes.

  • Serve as a subject matter resource for internal stakeholders on grants and sponsorships process questions.

  • Support Global Patient Affairs operational needs, including maintaining departmental SharePoint/Teams workspaces and document management structures.

  • Contribute to special projects and operational excellence initiatives as needed.

More about You

  • Bachelor’s degree required; life sciences or related field preferred.

  • 6–8+ years of relevant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or similarly regulated environments.

  • Demonstrated experience managing grants, sponsorships, or comparable external funding, operational programs, or governance processes.

  • Proven ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment with senior stakeholders.
