Job Description:
Role Overview
As a Senior Go Software Engineer, you will be central to our Technology Modernization Strategy. You will work on a development team creating new banking applications and shared platform services using an innovative technology stack. This includes working within a microservices architecture and building solutions for core FinTech services such as ACH, Wire Transfers, and Positive Pay. This role is remote, but candidates must reside within 70 miles of a designated hub location.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, test, deploy, maintain, and scale backend services in a microservices architecture using the Go programming language in an agile development environment.
- Collaborate with Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to identify needs, prioritize work, and develop solutions.
- Gain a deep understanding of specific banking-related domains and how changes in those domains impact products.
- Participate with customer support teams to resolve or diagnose defects and issues.
- Lead technical efforts of larger products, including planning, communication, and breaking down work into smaller units.
- Apply knowledge of observability, scale, and performance in software development.
- Debug issues in production, identify customer issues, or resolve problems with a release pipeline or deployment.
- Continually grow your technical skill set.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of programming experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of back-end programming and development experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of programming experience with Go/Golang.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelors degree in computer science is desired but not required.
- Experience in Financial Technology (FinTech), specifically with ACH, Wire Transfers, or Positive Pay.
- Experience working in a microservices architecture.
- Experience with any of the following: continuous integration pipelines, observability, monitoring, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- The ability to work independently.
- A sense of ownership from scope definition through production support.
Work Environment
This position is fully remote for candidates living within 70 miles of Allen, TX; Birmingham, AL; Cedar Falls, IA; Charlotte, NC; Lenexa, KS; Louisville, KY; Monett, MO; or Springfield, MO. Travel of up to 5% may be required for meetings, training, and professional conferences. Standard working hours are 40 hours per week, with flexibility to overlap in the Central time zone.
